Canyonlands (Pt. 1)

After our night in the hotel we headed to the Needles district of Canyonlands NP for a night. Naomi went on her first full hike where we didn't even take the backpack...it was .3 miles :) Check out this outfit!

Then we went on a hike where we saw an old cowboy camp and some petroglyphs. It was pretty neat to walk under the edge of this massive rock shaped kind of like a mushroom and know that people could be on top and have no idea you were beneath in cool shade with a natural spring providing water.

This is the view from on top of the 'mushroom' rock...the sky was incredible this day!
At our previous campground, daddy had let Naomi 'drive' through the stream that ran over the road and therefore now she loves to drive. Daddy is trying to teach her that she can only drive in campgrounds, but I'm not sure it's sticking...

 The sunset was absolutely beautiful...
To really wear her out before bedtime, we went on one last adventure amongst some rocks she could climb on and through...she had a permanent smile on her face :)
And of course daddy wanted to show us his jumping-from-rock-to-rock skills, although this time we convinced Naomi to say 'Go daddy!' and clap for him instead of crying ;-)

We took another photo shoot before heading back to the campground...and realized that we have a lot to learn about shooting sunsets. This one is ok, and it's the only one of 30+ that made the 'I guess we'll keep it for the memory' category, haha!
Wanted to let y'all in on our morning view...is she not precious?!?
And can you say 'bedhead'?? ;-)
Almost every morning Naomi would roll over, smile, and say 'Nomi up nap Mommy!'
