When we were about 100 yds downhill from the bathroom, Naomi decided that she did in fact have to go to the bathroom. So we jumped down in the ditch right beside the road and held her over a rock. We made a really fun, big deal about it so she was very proud of her 'pee-pee rock!' ;-)
Then we all hiked to Double Arch, it was really fun and unique!
On the hike back to the car Naomi spotted some ants, decided they needed to 'eat rocks!', found some small rocks and fed them to the ants...she was quite proud of herself ;-)
Naomi found a little crevice that she nicknamed her 'house'...she would have spent hours in there if we'd let her!
On our way out of the park we stopped at the closest viewpoint for the Delicate Arch, which is the famous arch that you always see in pics. You can hike to it but we didn't learn this until we got there and it was already getting hot. At that point, 3 miles without shade with each of us carrying a child did not sound all that fun...this was a big step for our adventurous spirits to pass up a hike to such a unique and beautiful landmark...but we also are not huge fans of extreme desert heat ;-)
5 National Parks of rocks: beautiful in its own way, but I think we are ready for a trip to green grass and/or snow-capped mountains next :)
