Santa Cruz

For the weekend of Naomi's actual birthday we headed up north to the Santa Cruz area with our good friends Tyler, Jesse, and Rory. We stayed in Jesse's grandparents guest house, and spent our time relaxing, cooking, eating, playing games, and simply spending quality time together having great conversations...it was such a blessing of a weekend to our little family.

On the drive up (and back!) we were thankful for Tyler and Jesse's willingness to gain loads of experience in 'Naomi-entertainment.'

Saturday morning we went for a walk to an old drive-in, grabbed hot drinks and headed out for a stroll along the beach...Happy 1st Birthday Babydoll!
These plants lined the path we took up the hill to get back to the house...we felt like we were in a Dr. Seuss book!

Later that afternoon we skyped with both sets of grandparents so all could join in the singing of 'Happy Birthday!' And Naomi of course loved consuming her second birthday cupcake ;-)
Our friend Jacob came down from Livermore for one of the nights...how many guys does it take to grill some shish-ka-bobs?? :)

On Mother's Day we went to Capitola, walked around the cute downtown area, and enjoyed a nice lunch before heading back home.

On the way home, we stopped just south of Santa Barbara to take in the beautiful sunset, and of course take pictures of it...

...which then turned into a photo shoot of ourselves as we realized we had hardly taken any pictures the whole trip...and by 'photo shoot of ourselves,' I really mean 100 pictures of Naomi and 5 of the rest of us ;-)

Love these two!! What a wonderful way to end a day celebrating our sixth anniversary and my first official Mother's Day!
So blessed by such great friends...what a weekend to remember :)
