Yosemite? I think so!

To continue our semesterly (I made that word up) tradition, we went to visit Katie Burns and the Simpson family up at High Sierra in the middle of November. Our friends Suwilo and Anneke rode up with us and we met up with our friends Ben & Kelly Ritter once we got there. We decided to head into the Valley on Saturday morning and try out a new hike Katie had just discovered, which we unanimously renamed 'Katie Burns' Vista' once we arrived at the viewpoint :)

There was such a wind whipping through the valley that day that it was FREEZING for these pictures...we sprinted back to the car as soon as the pictures were snapped!

We borrowed a carrier from the Sampsons for the weekend, so when we got to the trailhead we loaded Naomi in and off we went! Doesn't she look like a bug smashed on the windshield??

When we got to the top, Suwilo and I needed a rest! We all ate some lunch and the photo shoot of Naomi and anyone else commenced :)

 

At the actual lookout you can see Vernal Falls and Nevada Falls to one side, another waterfall in front of you, and then Yosemite Falls back across the valley...breathtaking!

On the way back down Naomi got moved to the front of dad so he could slide on his bottom while navigating down the steep parts...dad was also concerned about her hands getting cold so we put his gloves over her hands. Ben told someone we passed that Naomi's hands were in the 1000th percentile, hahaha! Some of the parts were sooo steep... Everyone with us told us that we are such cool parents, but I decided we should probably be considered more stupid than cool ;)
