Saturday morning started with an alarm at 5:30, a 6 o'clock meet up time with Daddy's walkabout team, and on a boat at Newport Beach by 8! Needless to say, that early morning craziness paired with gloomy, misty weather resulted in some naps happening on the way over to Catalina Island :)
Naomi was all about joining this nap party!
It is true, even though some of them don't look too comfortable, they are all truly sacked out!
After their naps Haley and Naomi had some bonding time (although this bonding pales in comparison to how they bonded on the car ride home when Naomi screamed for 90% of the hour and Haley worked at soothing her...Haley showed some real dedication and patience during that!)
We walked around the town of Avalon for awhile before lunch. Naomi loved taking in all the sights.
Naomi's friend Vera was on the trip as well...it was a riot watching them interact with one another as they are both in a stage where they love to grab anything in their reach :)
After lunch on the island, we got back on the boat and drove to this cove where we got to play with all of Mark & Trish's toys they had brought along. I would have to say the most popular were the paddleboards which most people tried out at some point. It was freezing, so simply putting on your bathing suit took courage, let alone attempting a new sport that could result in you falling in the frigid ocean water! (Of course Josh not only paddle-boarded, he also was seen diving off the top of the boat, snorkeling around it, and climbing around on the rocks on the shore :)
Mom and Haley precariously balancing on the paddleboards...this was quite fun!
Some cute videos of Naomi on the front of the boat while we were parked in the cove:
A pic of our first trip to the ocean as a family of three! (Note daddy in his swimsuit, mom in normal clothes (and still cold), and Naomi in long sleeves, pants, and a hat...hahaha)
Thanks so much to Mark and Trish who generously took a group of over 25 of us out for a fun-filled day that none of us would have gotten to experience otherwise!
Looks like an awesome day! Way to paddleboard!! Loved the video of her talking...SO CUTE!!!
