Family + Friends = Fun!

To finish up documenting all that Naomi experienced in the rest of her week at Chicago...here are some more pics and stories!

Uncle Jason decided as the week progressed that he wasn't all that cracked up with Nay. She took too much attention away from him and he would blatantly ignore her at times (which we all thought was hilarious!). He even ignored her taking a 10 minute nap on his chest!

Daddy's good friend Matt came over to visit and brought his son, Connor. We enjoyed catching up and getting an idea of what it will be like when Naomi visits Grandma and Grandpa's house as a 2 year old!

The next night we got to visit with daddy's friend Megan...she taught Naomi some fashion tips!

We spent Friday evening enjoying the company of the Dzwilik family! We grilled out, walked to the park and played some baseball, and came back for a movie! Carter did a great job taking care of Naomi at the ball park and feeding her once we got back:

We always have a good time with the Dzwilik family, and that night all the fun wore Naomi out! She fell asleep all by herself in the middle of the family room while we watched Tangled...I think she'll be more interested in the Disney princesses in a couple years :)

We went down into the city on Saturday to meet up with our good college friend Chris Gavranic and to meet his girlfriend Heidi...we had a great time restaurant hopping after we realized it was way too H-O-T to walk around sightseeing. First lunch at the original Gino's East enjoying a bacon cheeseburger deep dish pizza:
We walked to Navy Pier, it was so crowded the air conditioning didn't seem to be doing much thanks to all the hot bodies crammed in:

We then rode the free trolley back to Michigan Ave...daddy did this often with his buds during high school so he was excited to show us girls how he and his friends explored the city 'back in the day.'
Then we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dessert...mainly because it was so hot :) But hey...Chris & Heidi had never experienced cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory so we HAD to introduce them!

Before leaving the city we stopped by a party where some of daddy's friends from high school were getting together for the forth...we hadn't seen them since our wedding so it was good to catch up, introduce Naomi, and see where they are all living and working nowadays!

We used the sink as Naomi's bathtub while at Grandma and Grandpa's...we won't be able to use this tactic at Christmas...but she enjoyed kicking her feet up and out of the sink while bathing this trip! :)
Grandma made her a special hooded towel to use while she's there...she wasn't too cracked up about getting out of the bath this morning...but the following uses produced much happier results :)

We also took Naomi to her first movie at the theatre: Cars 2. She slept during 90% of it...and the other 10% she was eating. But we didn't have to pay for her ticket and we can always say she was extremely well behaved when we took her to see her first movie...even if she didn't actually watch 2 seconds of it ;)

Stories from the week in Indiana coming soon!!
