Back in the Midwest

We have made it! We were able to fit all we needed for our 3 week visit to the Midwest into two carry on suitcases, a diaper bag and a back pack! We flew stand by on a red-eye flight and had a good baby throughout pretty much all of it :) Grandpa Wood and Uncle Michael picked us up at O'Hare Airport at 5:30am on Sunday and Naomi has enjoyed meeting all the boys here in Lake in the Hills (Grandpa Wood, Uncle Michael, Uncle Jason, and Great Grandpa Goff) as well as reconnecting with Grandma Judy.
When we arrived at Grandma & Grandpa's house we took her in to meet Uncle Jason as he was waking up. She was a little overwhelmed but after she screamed for a minute she decided to take a 2 minute catnap amongst Uncle Jason's stuffed animals in his bed :)

 

At church she played 'Musical Arms,' being admired and swooned over by everyone...of course :) That afternoon she showed the family that she can be quite the cuddle bug!

Later that night Great Grandpa Goff arrived and got to meet his first granddaughter....yep, that's right...he had to wait until one of his five grandsons had a daughter to get a granddaughter :)

The next morning Grandpa Mark burped her and got some quality time in before the day got underway...

 

In case you haven't noticed she has loved napping since she's gotten here. So Monday, she took a nap with daddy mid-day and Uncle Michael claimed her as soon as he got home from work and they took a nap together :)

Uncle Jason and Naomi have found each other quite interesting, as they both enjoy someone singing to them as well as being the center of attention (see photo on the left). However, Uncle Jason finds Nay a lot more comical than she does him...especially when she's crying. She was acting fussy in between these pictures and Uncle Jason got quite the kick out of it as you can see in the picture on the right.

Grandpa Mark claimed the right to feed Naomi a bottle last night. He was SO excited because we told him that she just stares at whoever is feeding her...

 

 HAHAHA! Probably not the last time Naomi does exactly opposite of what we say she will...but she did finally come around and make Grandpa's night by showing him her appreciation for filling her hungry tummy :)

Last night we had a great time reconnecting with Mr. and Mrs. Collins, the parents of Josh's best friend Lance Corporal Jonathan Collins who died serving his country in Iraq the summer of 2004...what a blessing our time together was to each of us.

 

The adventures continue...we feel so blessed to spend such a large amount of time with family this early on in Naomi's life. She is feeling the love from all directions and there are never a shortage of arms to hold her!
